CETEAL, our structural engineering office specialized in offshore wind turbines, has developed the ROCKMAT concept in partnership with CATHIE Associates, an offshore geosciences and geotechnical engineering office, DV Offshore, a marine operations engineering office, and Business Crescendo, a strategy and business-development consulting firm.

ROCKMAT is a radically simple solution, designed for the installation of gravity-based offshore structures on rocky seabed. It requires minimal means of marine operation and avoids costly site preparation. This solution, which was originally designed for wind turbines, can be adapted to other applications and can significantly reduce the need for prior geotechnical studies.

Presented at the EWEA exhibition in Amsterdam from 29th November to 1st December 2011 on the CATHIE Associates’ exhibition stand, ROCKMAT was met with great interest.

A European patent has been registered.
