| The PM'up grant from the Région Ile-de-France supports the development of responsible companies with high growth potential. MAREAL was among the 174 companies selected for the PM'up grant in 2010. Since 2008, the Région Ile-de-France is committed, through PM'up, to support the development of small and medium enterprises and industries (SMEs and SMIs) from the Paris area. To be eligible for the PM'up grant, companies (or associations or entities of the social and solidarity economy) must have fewer than 250 employees, demonstrate a high growth potential and carry out ambitious and responsible projects. A board chaired by the Region and made up of qualified individuals selects the projects featuring the greatest potential in terms of job creation, innovation and international development, and integrating the principles of sustainable development. With MAREAL’s development prospects, especially internationally, a doubling of staff can be anticipated within two years. As part of its PM'up project, MAREAL has introduced a program whereby the company undertakes to implement about fifty measures for employment and inclusion, the environment, quality of life in the area and the local economy. With these measures, MAREAL undertakes to promote diversity by increasing the share of young professionals in its recruitment, to set up training on safety and health, to maintain the gender balance, to make responsible purchases, to engage in a process of environmental certification, to reduce its carbon footprint beyond regulatory requirements and to create partnerships with local schools, etc. In return, MAREAL will benefit for 3 years from the support of recognized experts selected by the Région, a grant of tens of thousands of Euros to finance consulting services, its international expansion, its investments, its recruitments and a path suited to its needs. |
